St Finbarr's, Gougane Barra, County Cork

St Finbarr's, Gougane Barra, County Cork

Gougane Barra is an area of real natural beauty. The name Gougane Barra comes from St Finbarr, who built a monastery on the island in the 6th century. I had a early start the day I photographed this scene. Rising at four, I drove for two hours to this idyllic location for a dawn shoot. I had been there the day before and was taken by it's beauty. I knew it would be best photographed at dawn, so I decided there and then to return early the next day to capture it beauty in more favourable light.
