Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, Iceland
Fed by the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, Jökulsárlón is one of the most magical natural spectacles I have seen in my lifetime. The lagoon covers an area of about 18 km2, and is the deepest lake in iceland at 248 meters. Packed full of icebergs the lagoon is ever evolving, with new pieces of ice falling from the glacier continually, eventually making their way to the sea through a narrow inlet. Some of the icebergs can spend up to five years floating in the lagoon, melting, refreezing and toppling over.
